Senior Swimmer Wins 25K Open Water National Championship

Clemson, SC - Birmingham Swim League's Senior swimmer, Ryan Dvorak, placed first in this year's USA Swimming 25K Open Water National Championships at Clemson University's Lake Hartwell. In a distance race most people would only hope to complete, Ryan decided to put himself in position to win. With one half of the race left, Ryan had one guy to overtake. Ryan swam the second half of the race faster than the first half, and won the event by over 1,000 meters. With this national championship, Ryan qualifies for the FINA 25K World Championships to be held in Barcelona, Spain July 19th. The event is held in conjunction with the FINA World Championships, where USA Swimming's National A TEAM will compete this summer.
